Present at the meeting was OFCCP's Regional Outreach Coordinator Jennifer Fritzel, Assistant Director of the San Francisco District Office, Evelyn Kennedy, Regional Outreach Technical Advisor Lawrence White, Executive Director of the community-based organization Construction Trades Workforce Initiative, Beli Acharya and Megan Nazareno, senior program and data manager. Lawrence provided an overview of OFCCP's mission, enforcement, outreach efforts and training. Evelyn provided a thorough overview of the two previously mentioned Mega Projects taking place in Northern California. Jennifer explained OFCCP's participation goals and expanded on the Pacific Regions' outreach efforts as well as offered an extensive overview of the EEO Committee and its purpose and objectives. Beli spoke about the 30 Unions her organization is connected to and the many Pre-apprenticeships and apprentice programs her organization works with. She emphasized that there was a primary focus centered on the disadvantaged groups they serve in this area. Beli and Megan also shared with OFCCP the developing partnerships with several public agencies in that area and that CTWI has provided education workshops to contractors and subcontractors on the existing pipeline of workers available. Based on the information provided, it would appear that this organization is well connected in the community where the Northern California Mega Projects will take place.
The representatives from CTWI invited OFCCP to an upcoming Workshop on December 5, 2023, at the Fairfield Training Center in Fairfield, California. OFCCP offered outreach training in the area of workers' rights and resources for compliant investigations for workers their organizations serve. Both OFCCP and CTWI agreed to keep communication and collaboration efforts a priority between the two entities and looked forward to re-convening in the near future.
