On October 26, 2023, OFCCP hosted a meeting about apprenticeship possibilities on the I-10 Freight Corridor project. Invited guests were Brenda Myers, Office of Apprenticeship State Director for Mississippi, and Marlaina Guillaume, Regional Administrator for the Women’s Bureau Southeast region. RD Collins discussed overall updates on the I-10 Freight Corridor project and started the discussion on the topic of apprenticeship. She also discussed OFCCP’s EEO Committee and OFCCP’s upcoming participation in the Pre-Solicitation meeting with the Mississippi Department of Transportation. State Director Myers provided an overview of the apprenticeship services that her agency can provide to contractors, including how they are initiated and success stories for participants. She discussed positives for contractors in participating and answered questions from the audience on the call. The OFCCP team provided answers to Director Myers’ questions about the project and noted an action item for follow-up.
