Texas Veterans Commission/Women Veterans Program

Description of Event
On October 12th, the Texas Veterans Commission/Women Veterans Program invited several representatives from organizations that discussed training programs and employment opportunities at their organization, targeting female veterans. Before the event, Dr. Krystle Mathews acknowledged that Compliance Officer Emily Arroyo was on the line. She let CO Arroyo know that she had shared CO Arroyo’s contact information with a female veteran earlier in the morning. Dr. Mathews also expressed to CO Arroyo that she would like CO Arroyo to be the featured guest speaker at a future virtual event.

After the featured speakers, TVC Women Veterans opened the floor to any community partners that wanted to introduce themselves, the organization they represent and what they do to support female veterans. CO Arroyo introduced herself and the Agency and noted that if female veterans feel they have been discriminated against, they could contact our Agency. CO Arroyo shared her contact information in the chat. Three other community partners also shared their information. The event lasted an hour, and there were 23 women veterans in attendance.
