Hispanic Heritage Month Event

Description of Event
Please join the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), Nashville District Office and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Memphis District as we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month 2024 and its theme "Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together". National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated yearly from September 15 to October 15, recognizing the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. To build awareness among the Hispanic and Latino community, community-based organizations (CBOs), other external stakeholders, and the general public, OFCCP and EEOC will host a virtual panel entitled “Barriers and Accomplishments of the Hispanic Community.” Panelists will discuss challenges, share success stories, and speak on a diverse range of issues affecting the Hispanic and Latino community. The panel will also discuss ways to destigmatize the Hispanic and Latino community in our individual community and workspaces.

Attendees will:
Hear personal stories about Hispanic and Latino lived experiences.
Hear about workplace barriers affecting the Hispanic and Latino community.
Hear success stories, lessons learned, and best practices.
Learn about available resources for workers, CBOs, federal contractors, and other employers.
