Santa Cruz Trades Day

Description of Event
Workers’ Rights at Santa Cruz Trades Day

Join us at the Santa Cruz Trades Day, hosted by the Construction Industry Education Foundation, where we’re empowering the next generation of construction professionals! This exciting event aims to introduce high school students to a wide range of career opportunities in the construction trades, including design, subcontracting, heavy equipment operation, engineering, and more.

The OFCCP’s San Jose District Office will be on hand with vital information about workplace rights and protections. Our booth will provide attendees with resources on fair labor practices, equal employment opportunities, and how to advocate for their rights in the workplace.

This event will also feature a diverse lineup of participants, including local fire and police departments, community colleges, and various industry organizations, such as Joby Aviation, Nor Cal Carpenters Training, and Cabrillo College’s Construction & Industry Management program. With over 30 organizations participating, students will have the chance to connect with contractors, unions, city and county organizations, and community-based entities.

Don't miss this opportunity to explore career paths in the skilled trades while learning about your rights as a worker! Whether you’re a student curious about construction or an advocate for fair labor practices, this event is for you. Join us in building a better future for all workers in the construction industry!
