My name is Dee Staton. I currently have two open EEOC complaints against my employer (USPS) for age/injury discriminiation. The first claim was filed in 2018, the second in 2020. During the last 3.5 years I have endured intense scrutiny, arbitrary discipline, hostile work environment, threats, suspensions, etc. I injured myself at work, and filed for occupational disease in 2018. That was when the postal abuse started. The CA 2 was adjudicated in 2019. However the abuse has continued. I am currently out on medical from a surgery (the result of the on-the-job-injury). My employer tried to close the OWCP case in August 2021. The USPS also delayed getting vital information to OWCP for me to get compensation for missing work. The most resent adverse action suffered is the deferment of my next level promotion. I am out on medical, however, the USPS will not make me a job offer. I have not recieved any pay for 2 months. I really need help.
What are your goals for working with the Ombuds?
I know that the USPS is breaking laws. If anyone did even the slightest investigation, I know that management would immediately stop the abuse. I fully believe that the EEOC will be able to get to the bottom of everything, but the process is painfully slow, and in the mean time, I am about to be homeless. Please help.
