Please provide a brief explanation of the concern, issue, or question you would like to address with the Ombuds.
OFCCP is an agency that advocates for the rights of workers. We investigate employer processes and we find contractors in violation for not following their own processes. Prior to returning to the office, OFCCP pretended there was a fair process of allowing employees an option to work remotely. The request was to go to your immediate supervisor for approval and then to the regional and national offices for final approval. Everyone I know that requested remote work was sent a reasonable accommodation form to fill out even if they did not list anything relating to the accommodation as a reason. Even for those who already had accommodations on file were denied remote work. Meanwhile there are managers that are able to benefit from remote work. If there was no real option to work remotely other than managers and their select few; It should not be presented as a real and fair process to everyone.
What are your goals for working with the Ombuds?
The Ombuds Service should bring this faulty process to the attention on management on all levels. There needs to be a review of the process.
