I work for the DOJ-EOIR; the Immigration Judge I work for and the Court Administrator (CA) are on a head to head battle regarding procedures & Court Administration. I am stuck in the middle.
CA sent me an email on Friday accusing me of insubordination, because she gave my supervisor’s direction to move some cases, my supervisor’s asked me to do it and I emailed the IJ to “see below” because I needed to move some cases she had recently scheduled. I needed to know importance level for each in order to accommodate, CA directives without infringing on Respondents or Counselor’s needs.
Based on my email to Judge, court Administrator accused me of insubordination because the Judge requested one prose case be left on the day she scheduled. The Judge continues to schedule cases on days she wants & IJ has now decided it is my fault.

What are your goals for working with the Ombuds?
The court has 1 court administrator and 2 supervisory levels above my pay grade.
Why could they not speak directly with the IJ and reset the days as they saw fit? Why place me in the middle and then write me up for insubordination, when they know it is part of my job description to discuss these cases with the Judge.
If there is a battle to be had it should be between same pay grades and not involve subordinates.
